- What inspired you to become a clinician in the field of eating disorder treatment? I love helping others make peace with their relationship to food. I enjoy working from a weight-neutral and trauma-informed approach, and believe that health and wellness are multifactorial and look different from person to person. I’m passionate about helping others find balance with food and working alongside clients as they work their way through the messiness of diet culture and ultimately find the best path for them.
- Tell us about your journey as a clinician from your first role to your current role. I’ve work at a variety of different eating disorder facilities, providing nutritional services for all levels of care and for all eating disorder diagnosis and disordered eating.
- What do you currently see as the greatest barriers to eating disorder treatment and recovery? Collaborative provider care
- What is your proudest moment as an eating disorder clinician? I feel so proud and learn so much from my clients daily. You all have been my greatest teachers. I felt the most proud watching a client of mine make peace with food and find value and meaning in life with they could show up in their most authentic self.
- What do your clients love most about MyClearStep? Clear step has been a great tool in providing eating disorder care in a virtual setting.
- What has changed since adding MyClearStep to your practice? What’s changed is the ability to accept more clients in the virtual space, knowing blind weights can be easily accessible.
- What advice would you give to those considering a career in eating disorder treatment? Hold on to your passion, we all join this field for a reason. And seek mentoring often to help navigate cases.
- What are some of your passions and hobbies outside of work? I love hanging with my dog, relaxing on the couch. I love cooking and gardening. I love being outside and connecting with others.
